THE NEW AMERICAN HERITAGE

Woven into the American fabric since 1851, Arrow was founded as a

haberdasher, and is widely known as the inventor of the attached collar. For 150 years, our brand has focused on outfitting the modern American man. Today, the contemporary man values both newness and heritage. He is obsessed with innovative technology and authentic brands and products. Built around classic ideas with a modern interpretation, his sense of style transcends clothing, and is reflected in every facet of his life – his grooming, what he listens to, and what he drinks and eats. He is more interested in authenticity than price or status, and he takes an artisanal approach to what he purchases and surrounds himself with. His favored passions are considered timeless traditions. He prefers artfully crafted beers, classic cocktails, 1940s style haircuts, meticulously groomed beards (courtesy of local barber), horn-rimmed glasses, vinyl records, and classic patterns – all with a modern twist.

THE CLASSICS Our most iconic shirt, the classic button-down is available in a multitude of patterns to suit any man’s style. From Bengal Stripes to Oxfords, they are tried-and-true essentials that you can build your wardrobe around. If you only own one shirt, this should be it.

Harkening back to a simpler time, the Arrow man conjures a certain sense of nostalgia. A fascinating fusion of digital and analog, this is the new American heritage.

FLANNEL HERITAGE TWILL The essence of refined casual, a timeless twill button-up is a necessity in every man’s closet. From plaids to tattersall, each of our patterns tells a unique story. Invest in this timeless style; it’s the perfect accessory to have in rotation – whether worn for work or play.

A symbol of the rugged man, this style conjures visions of the fictional giant, Paul Bunyan. Originally designed as a functional alternative to wool in 17th century, flannel re-emerged when uppercrust society began wearing it as classic “hunt club” attire. Our flannel is a perfect fusion of these diverse influences.

YARN-DYED Designed with a certain artisanal quality, our yarn-dyed shirts are made to retain their color wash after wash. Each yarn is dyed before the shirt is even assembled; it is this unique process that allows for multi-colored patterns (stripes, checks, you name it).

DENIM & CHAMBRAY As American as apple pie, denim is woven into the fabric of America, and has been a tried and true work-wear staple since 1873 (when jeans were patented). Our denim & chambray offerings are weathered and finished to perfection with a rugged sensibility that appeals to the city dweller.

Our brand has an illustrious history in the world of haberdashery. It all started

in 1851 when Ebenezer Brown began manufacturingcollars in the back of his general store in Troy, NY. Since the inception of Arrow, we’ve built a rich legacy on superbly designed garments. Today, we’re carrying on that tradition by bringing authentic shirt collections to the modern man.

BARBERSHOP We’re a fan of the old school, straight razor shave – preferably performed by a trusted confidant, local barber. Heed our advice and make a trip to one of the many vintage-inspired barbershops popping up around the country. Take Duke Barber Co. (pictured), for example. This fifth generation Philly establishment blends old school techniques with a modern flair. On Saturday mornings, men gather there with friends to socialize, share stories, and always leave looking dapper.

SCORING VINYL We’re into vinyl and appreciate the organic sound that records produce, but we also own the hottest headphones. We may have been raised on MP3s, but “Abbey Road” just doesn’t have the same oomph when it’s coming through computer speakers. On Saturdays, find us scouring the racks of records at the local flea market, or at the mecca for vinyl heads, Breakaway Records in Austin, TX. From blues to modern-day alternative rock, we’ve amassed an impressive collection that would make dad proud.

REAL FOOD, REAL GOOD We value foods that are made with real ingredients; the kind that require a trip to the local butcher shop. Celebrating the revival of classic meat shops, we recommend picking up your Sunday short ribs at our favorite “mom & pop” market, Olympia Provisions, a Portland mainstay (pictured). There’s nothing better than watching the guy behind the counter wrap your dinner in that crisp brown paper.. Because, for us, food is not simply a matter of taste; it is ritual.

MIXOLOGY PERFECTED We dig a well-crafted cocktail. Thankfully, a recent resurgence in mixology has taken the art of cocktails back to its roots. For the skilled bartenders in Speakeasies from Brooklyn to Portland, the practice is somewhat of a religion. Try a vintage drink like our favorite, the Old Fashioned, which is regaining popularity thanks to its simplicity and unique combination of flavors.

THE ARROW OLD FASHIONED 1oz bourbon 1/4oz chili-infused bitters 1tsp sugar 1 splash water 1 lemon slice 1 maraschino cherry 1 orange slice In a rocks glass, muddle sugar and bitters Add the bourbon and a large ice cube Twist slices of lemon and orange peel over the drink and drop slices in Add maraschino cherry for garnish

CUP OF JOE As aficionados of slow-crafted coffee, we think of its creation as a complex ritual. More than a caffeine fix, it offers a reason to convene with friends, a catalyst for ideas, and a quiet moment to collect thoughts. Our barista at The Rose Estb. in Salt Lake City consistently handcrafts the perfect cup from Four Barrel Coffee’s best beans – always sourced from third-generation farmers and mill-workers. Stop into your neighborhood roaster and appreciate the slight nuances that make your cup of Joe so memorable.
