Among the Stars by Marilyn Foreman You can use fabrics in the colors shown in the examples or have fun choosing your own colors! For the large feature print, choose a fabric with lengthwise repeat >= 8” and some motifs at least 2” to 3” in diameter. Table Runner (24” x 54”) 2-1/2 yards (or 3 yards if >22” fabric repeat) feature print 1 FQ for star background 3/8 yard for star points & snowball block outer frame 1 FQ for star accent points & snowball block center frame 3/8 yard for setting star points 3/8 yard binding * Backing is included in feature fabric above Twin (70” x 85”) example colors refer to two quilts below 3 yards feature print for block centers & wide border Star Blocks 3 FQs or 1 yd for background (cream or brown print) 3 FQs or 3/4 yard for star points (aqua swirl or green) 2 FQs for 1/2 yard for accent points (black or red) Snowball Blocks 2 FQs or 1/2 yard for center frame (navy or red) 3 FQs or 3/4 yard for outer frame (cream floral or print) 5/8 yard for setting star points & snowball block corners (blue/brown) 1-1/8 yards for setting border (aqua or blue) 5/8 yard thin border (blue or red)* 3/4 yard binding* 5 yards backing* *Not needed for class
Additional Supplies Basic sewing supplies (thread, scissors, pins, & seam ripper) Flat head pins 6-1/2” square ruler & pencil for drawing lines on fabric Rotary cutter, mat (at least 12” x 18”, larger is better), & large ruler. We will cut the feature print in class. Cutting instructions for other fabrics are shown on the next page. $7.50 kit fee payable in class for the Among the Stars pattern
