September 2016 Dear Parents and Guardians K-5, P.S. 69's STOP AND DROP PROGRAM will begin on Monday, September 19th 2016 at 7:50a.m . (We suggest you begin to line-up earlier.) The safety of the whole community is, and always should be, our first priority. As a result, I am asking for your full cooperation with this program. On the reverse side of this paper,-you will find the rituals and routines that have been established as we begin our daily STOP and DROP. To make this program effective, please adhere to the following rules: • • • • • •

• •

Parents/Guardians must remain in their vehicles at all times. The student must be seated on the curbside of the vehicle. Ensure the safety lock on the vehicle's door is in the unlocked position. Please make sure that your child has all of their belongings such as a backpack and lunchbox ready before he/she exits the vehicle. After your child has safely exited the vehicle, please proceed to safely pull your vehicle away from the curb in a line fashion. You will not be permitted to wait to see that your child has entered the building prior to pulling away from the curb. School staff will make sure all children enter the building once you have stopped and dropped. All walkers must enter the building from Merrymount. Walkers in Grades K -5 are not permitted to enter Exit 9 from Keating Place. U-turns are prohibited once children are dropped off!

Our stop and drop team will be stationed along Merrymount at Exit 9 to visually supervise the safe arrival of your children into the building. Thank you for your support, understanding, and full cooperation with this program. Sincerely Marc Cucchia Dean of Discipline and safety
