REMOTE PILOT IN COMMAND REQUIREMENTS

 Be at least 16 years of age  Read, speak, write English  Be in physical or mental condition that would not interfere with the safe operation of an sUAS.  Pass an FAA Knowledge Test.  Complete an Airmen Application 8710 (IACRA system 48 hours after test)  Once the FAA receives the application they will conduct a TSA background check.

 KNOWLEDGE AREAS ON THE TESTS   The Unmanned Aircraft General – Small airman knowledge test covers the following knowledge areas:  (1) Applicable regulations relating to small unmanned aircraft system rating privileges, limitations, and flight operation;  (2) Airspace classification, operating requirements, and flight restrictions affecting small unmanned aircraft operation;  (3) Aviation weather sources and effects of weather on small unmanned aircraft performance;  (4) Small unmanned aircraft loading;  (5) Emergency procedures;  (6) Crew resource management;

 (7) Radio communication procedures;  (8) Determining the performance of small unmanned aircraft;  (9) Physiological effects of drugs and alcohol;  (10) Aeronautical decision-making and judgment;  (11) Airport operations; and

 (12) Maintenance and preflight inspection procedures.

 Operating Rules:  Must keep the aircraft in sight (visual line-of-sight)*  Must fly under 400 feet*

 Must fly during the day*  Must fly at or below 100 mph*  Must yield right of way to manned aircraft*

 Must NOT fly over people*  Must NOT fly from a moving vehicle*  * All of these rules are subject to waiver
