ANNUAL MEETING

PURPOSE OF THE DDA The purposes of the Hudsonville Downtown Development Authority are to act as a Downtown Development Authority in accordance with Act 197 of the Public Acts of 1975, as amended, and include, but are not limited to, •

the correction and prevention of deterioration in business districts,



the encouragement of historic preservation,



the creation and implementation of development plans in the district,



and the promotion of economic growth

in the Downtown Business District. In furtherance of these purposes, the Authority shall have all the powers which now or hereafter may be conferred by law on authorities organized under Act 197, Public Acts of 1975.

TIF REVENUE - 2012

MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS • Participated in securing the Cherry Avenue retail complex through a partnership to construct adjacent parking. • Repaved the Cherry Avenue parking lot in 2011.

MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS • Purchased eight properties between 2008 and 2011 in the triangle block bordered by Chicago Drive, 32nd Avenue and Prospect Street for potential redevelopment.

MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS • Installed a welcome sign with a digital reader board at the west end of Central Boulevard in 2009. • Designed and installed a decorative welcome sign at the north end of Cherry Avenue in 2011.

MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS •

Installed two phases of decorative streetlights along Chicago Drive in 2010 and 2011. There are 53 - 29’ decorative light poles and 33 - 18’ decorative light poles over a 4,600’ stretch of Chicago Drive from 37th Avenue to east of 32nd Avenue.

MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS • Installed decorative street light banners. Christmas wreaths, banners and lighted garland were also purchased. • Run the flower pot program in the summer each year.

MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS • Sponsored city events such as Urban HayDay, Concerts on the Green, Hudsonville Holiday Parade, and Saladbowl Bash
