Ashland Youth Hockey Association Annual Meeting Minutes Sunday, March 29, 2015 – 4:00 PM Bay Area Civic Center – 320 4th Street West – Ashland, WI 54806 1.0 - CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by President Gregor at 4:14 PM. 2.0 – BOARD MEMBER INTRODUCTION: PresentRay Gregor, Bonnie Stegmann, Carrie Alajoki, Michelle Vuorenmaa, Christa Grande, Mike Bigo, Chris Bolz, and Stuart Salisbury. AbsentJulie Chatterton Representatives- Larry Kupczyk, BACC 3.0 – SEASON RECAP: A special thank you to the parents and players for their dedication to a great season. Also a special thank you for all of the volunteer hours worked and to Larry from the Bay Area Civic Center for making things run smoothly. And thank you to Bonnie Stegmann, the Board, and Jay Meierotto for all of their work hosting the State Squirt B Tournament which raised ~$5,000 for the association. 4.0 – FINANCIAL REPORT: Ray directed the attention to the Ashland Youth Hockey Profit and Loss Statement (June 2014 – May 2015). (See attachment 1.) Ray further thanked Julie Chatterton for her work as the treasurer. 5.0 – NHL GRANT: Bonnie Stegmann submitted a grant in September. The Board was recently notified that 20 sets of equipment valued at $10,000 was awarded to AYHA. 6.0 – BLUE LINE OVERVIEW: Christa Grande, Blue Line President provided a season overview. She further indicated that volunteers logged ~ 1,123 hours of work (with at minimum wage would equate to $13,941); not including coaches and assistant coaches volunteer time. 7.0 – ELECTIONS: Ray provided an overview of the ballot – President, Vice-President, and Blue Line President are one year positions; with all other positions being two year terms. Steve Hopper informed the audience that he didn’t get his name on the ballot, but that he was interested in running as Vice-President as a write-in candidate. Ballots were distributed for voting.

8.0 – TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR: Ray indicated the need for a Tournament Director for the 2015-16 season. Jay Meierotto was gracious to assist in this role this year. Therefore, Jay provided an overview of the Tournament Director position. Last call for ballots at 4:30 PM. 9.0 – COACH ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: Bonnie Stegmann and Carrie Alajoki announced the coaches and presented them with Bauer embroidered jackets as a thank you for their time. 10.0 – U8 TEAM: Coaches Bigo and Kupczyk presented the Learn to Skate, White, and Red teams with their trophies. They further thanked their assistant coaches – Brody, Garrett, Leo, and Hank for all of their help this season. 11.0 – SQUIRT TEAM: Coach Melek presented the players with their trophies. 12.0 – PEE WEE TEAM: Coaches Meierotto and Stegmann (Alajoki absent) presented the players with their trophies and provided a season overview. 13.0 – BANTAM TEAM: Belanger and Stibbe were absent from the meeting due to attending a pre-scheduled hockey tournament. Stegmann read a statement from the coaches and presented the players with their trophies. 14.0 – U14 TEAM: This year two Ashland players were on the girls hockey co-op team. All team trophies were displayed for viewing. 15.0 – BANQUET: At 5:00 PM, the players and their families were invited to the food table, starting with the U8 families first. 16.0 – ELECTION RESULTS: Ray Gregor announced the ballot results. Board election results were as follows: President – Bonnie Stegmann = 89 votes; Vice-President – Mike Bigo = 56 votes; Secretary/Registrar – Michelle Vuorenmaa = 81 votes; Director – Honore Kaszuba = 43 votes; Director – Larry Doten = 41 votes; Director – Brad Campbell = 56 votes; Director – Dave Pergolski = 45 votes. Write-Ins: President – Bigo = 1; Vice-President – Hopper = 1; Vice-President – Pergolski = 1; and Secretary – Hopper = 1. Blue Line President – Christa Grande = 86 votes; Vice-President – Trisha Griffiths = 89 votes; Secretary – O’Bey = 90 votes. Write-Ins: Blue Line President – Chatterton = 1. Ballots were tallied and canvassed by Carrie Alajoki, Chris Bolz, and Don Grande. 17.0 – ADJOURNMENT/CLEAN-UP: The Annual Meeting / Banquet was informally adjourned and clean-up began at approximately 5:45 PM.
