APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS Colorado Corn is asking for applications for the first “Colorado Farm Stewardship” award. One recipient will be selected from a pool of applicants by members of the Colorado Corn Growers Association board and Colorado Corn Administrative Committee, as well as experts in the field of agricultural conservation, environment, and sustainability. Applications are due by 5:00 pm on November 18th, 2016. The announcement of the winner will be made during the Colorado Corn Annual Meeting in Yuma, CO to be held on December 7th, 2016. What are the requirements?  Must be a Colorado Corn Growers Association member in good standing  Applicant implements conservation tillage practices  Applicant demonstrates appropriate agricultural management practices on their farm related to soil, water, or air stewardship What will the Colorado Good Steward recipient receive?  Award recognition  Recognition throughout year by Colorado Corn  Nomination by Colorado Corn for the NCGA Good Steward Recognition What kind of criteria is needed? An explanation of known or innovative best management practices implemented in the applicant’s farming operation possibly related to:  Nutrient management  Water quality management  Air quality management  Soil health  Precision ag technologies  Irrigation (if applicable)  Soil erosion control  Cover crops Where should the application form be sent?
