Project Description and Restrictions Off Site Projects: These projects may include construction projects or yard work. Projects in the past have included painting, roofing, plumbing, flooring, general handyman, carpentry; as well as cleaning yards, trimming trees, power washing. We also need additional support volunteers for these teams: Off Site Project Team Member: Available and willing to be assigned to an off site projects. Site supervisors will notify you of the tools needed and request you to bring if you have available. Plan to bring work gloves, and to wear appropriate clothing for outdoor work sites. Site Supervisors: The site supervisor is responsible for supervising all the work at the site. The supervisor will need to be available to visit the site before FIA to assess the needs and report back those needs to the FIA coordinators. They will need to contact their assigned work crew and request tools needed and instruct them on completion of the work at the site. Coordinate visit with Client Liaison. Available for Site Supervisor planning meetings before the weekend (probably two meetings, in the evenings weeks prior to the event.) Needs to be available Saturday & Sunday. Client Liaison: Meet with the client before FIA (possibly with the site supervisor) and begin developing a relationship with the family, visit throughout the FIA weekend to ensure the clients are aware of the work progress relaying information between the site supervisor and the family. Arrange for a follow-up visit with the family after FIA weekend and work is completed. Must be available before and after FIA, & Saturday and Sunday of FIA weekend. Materials Handler: Stationed at Lowe’s Home Improvement Store in Tomball to receive request from FIA coordinators and se cure items requested. Proceed with check-out at Lowe’s and have materials ready for the runners to pick-up and deliver to the job sites. Will need to be able to use personal cellular phone for calls from FIA coordinators. Materials Runner: Available Saturday and Sunday to pick-up supplies at Lowe’s (Tomball) and deliver to job sites (typically within 10 mile radius of Tomball UMC). Must have a vehicle that can haul equipment and building supplies. Must have access Heartfelt Stitchers: This project area will have multiple projects in process. We are making prayer blankets - some are crocheted, some are knitted, and some are tied. We are working with “Baby Gowns for Eternity” to sew gowns for newborns. We are also making stuffed animals for first responders to give to children during a crisis situation (these will be decorated in another area). There will be no food or drink allowed in either of these areas. No children under the age of 12. Children must have sewing experience and be accompanied by an adult. Kitchen Crew: Help prepare breakfast and lunch for the work teams. # of volunteers are limited. There are three opportunities to be a part of this team but you are not required to serve all three times. Rise Against Hunger: This is an international program that packs high protein vitamin rich meals for an international mission project. We are committed to pack 10,152 meals during Saturday morning. All ages are welcome, children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent. This is an assembly line fun approach to serving many around the world.

There are several projects not listed on the back of this form. Please request a copy of the Brochure that lists all the projects and details about each area of service. Please contact Rebecca Jones ([email protected]) if you have any additional questions.
