AQUATHOL WATER QUALITY MONITORING PROGRAM FOR CAYUGA LAKE AND INLET Monitoring Program Post Application: • Duplicate samples (4 total samples) from application site and C5 using NYS ELAP lab and other lab of choice • 5 samples total - 4 in the lake (C5, D7, D3, E1, RUSS) – Lab of choice • Collect all samples in the lake at the middle of the water column • IAWWTF has gps coordinates for their monitoring locations • Collect samples o Within 12-24 hours of end of application o 3 days after application – D7, C5, D3, E1, RUSS o 7 days after application - D7, C5, D3, E1, RUSS o 14 days after application if detectable levels at 7 days • Further monitoring to be considered based on results • Description of Cayuga Lake monitoring – 5 locations o Use Ithaca Area Waste Water Treatment Facility (IAWTFF) sample locations o 3 sites in a north-south transect beginning close to the mouth of the lake and extending to the Cornell Russ Station (IAWTTF sample points C5 and E1) o Cornell Russ Station (located at the beginning of the shelf (IAWTTF sample point RUSS) o 1 site close to west shore (IAWTTF sample point D7) o 1 site close to east shore (IAWTTF sample point D3) o 1 location between Russ Station and Bolton Point intake o See attached map showing sample location • Bolton Point intake monitoring – should this location be monitoring only if there are detectable results at Russ Station or most upstream location 1
