Furlough Philosophy • • • • •

A 10% cut in pay deserves a commensurate cut in actual work Faculty/staff should not shoulder this budget cut by themselves The furlough should be visible Reduction should extend to teaching, service and scholarship This is an unprecedented tough time; I will be flexible at department level • This is not the student’s fault; remain respectful of their interests
