Armour of God Paraphrase and Prayer Plan Ephesians 6:10-13 (Paraphrase)
Be strong with God’s muscles! He makes you strong. See your life from heavens perspective. Jesus conquered the world and is the highest highest highest King. Jesus keeps me safe in His full armour and teaches me how to use it. We don’t fight people! We fight lies, fear, hate and all of the tricks of the devil that make people fight each other. So, don’t forget that the armour of God is the victory of Jesus and here’s how you can remember every piece!
Verse declarations & prayer plan I am strong with God’s muscles! He makes me strong. Psalm 28:7 Praise the Lord! For he has heard my cry for mercy. The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.
I see my life and the world around me from heavens perspective. Ephesians 2:4-7 (NASB) 4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
Jesus conquered the world and is the highest highest highest King. Ephesians 1:18-21 (NASB) 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might 20 which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.
Jesus keeps me safe in His full armour and teaches me how to use it. Colossians 3:1-3 (NASB)
Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. 3 For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
I don’t fight people! I fight lies, fear, hate and all of the tricks of the devil that make people fight each other. 1 John 4:16-20 (NLT) God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. 17 And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. 18 Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. 19 We love each other because he loved us first. 20 If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? 21 And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (NLT) 3 We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. 4 We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. 5 We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.
The Armour of God - declarations and prayer plan Each piece of the armour of God represents Jesus and every facet of HIS victory that is freely give to all who trust in Him. Putting on God’s armour has less to do with our “trying to put it on” and more to do with our remembering, meditating on and trusting that we are already “in Christ”. Remember, it is by His (God’s) doing you are in Christ Jesus (1 Cor 1:30). Our participation is to “trust in” and “walk out” the complete victory of Christ! Belt of Truth
My belt is the truth about Jesus: My armour is secure because the truth about Jesus is the truth about me.. Jesus lives his life through me and His victory is my victory!
John 14:6 (NASB) 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 15:5 (NLT) “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. Galatians 2:20a (NLT) 20 My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. Ephesians 4:13 (NASB)
“until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.” Ephesians 4:21-24 (NASB) “if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus, that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.”
Breastplate of Righteousness
My bulletproof vest is Jesus’ Right-ness: My heart is bullet proof because Jesus made me new.. He set me right again.
- I am a brand-new creation in Christ.. re-created and put back as I ought to be.
1 Corinthians 1:30 (NKJV) 30 He is the source of your life in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption, 31 in order that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in[j] the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 5:17-18 (NLT) 17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! 18 And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.
Shoes of the readiness of the Gospel of Peace
My shoes are Jesus’ Peace: I carry the best news that Jesus’ victory is for everyone and we can have peace because God loves us.
Ephesians 2:14, 16 (NASB) “For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall…and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the enmity.” 1 Corinthians 5:19-20 (NLT) 19 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. 20 So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”
Shield of Faith
The faith of Jesus is my shield: Trusting in Jesus’ victory keeps me safe like a wrap around shield.
Ephesians 2:8 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Galatians 2:20b (KJV) 20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Helmet of Salvation
Jesus’ Salvation is my helmet: I keep lies out by remembering how Jesus saved me
- What was Jesus’ mission? Salvation = Save, Heal and Set Free!
John 3:17 (NLT) God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.
Ephesians 2:8 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and [h]that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Sword of the Spirit
Jesus’ Spirit makes my words a sword:
My sword for battle is the words of Jesus’ victory!
Hebrews 4:12 (NASB) 12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword
James 5:16b (NLT) The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. Ephesians 3:20 (NASB) 14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father,[g] 15 from whom every family[h] in heaven and on earth takes its name. 16 I pray that, according to the riches of his glory, he may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through his Spirit, 17 and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love. 18 I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
