Additional entry requirements: Grade B in Art/Design subjects.
WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW OR BE ABLE TO DO BEFORE TAKING THIS COURSE? Basic drawing and painting skills are required and an enthusiasm and interest in art and design is essential.
WHAT WILL I LEARN ON THIS COURSE? • How to record ideas and observations before developing them using a range of materials and techniques • You will investigate artists and their work and use your findings to influence your own work.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED? 2 mandatory units at A Level internally marked and externally moderated compromising of coursework portfolio (60%) and controlled assignment (40%).
WHAT COULD I GO ON TO DO AT THE END OF THIS COURSE? Foundation Art and Design, Interior Design, Architecture, Product Design, Fashion, Graphics & Illustration, Art Therapy, Advertising, etc... Art can be great preparation for any career that requires fine motor skills, presentation skills, an eye for aesthetics and creative thinking.
