Art Gallery of Alberta Behold a masterpiece of architecture with a swirling exterior of zinc, glass and steel referencing the forms of the North Saskatchewan River and Aurora Borealis. Located in the heart of downtown, the Art Gallery of Alberta (AGA), a centre of excellence for the visual arts in Western Canada, exudes creativity even from the outside. In as little as two to four hours, explore exhibitions featuring regional, national and international art. Founded in 1924, the AGA maintains a collection of over 6,000 objects and is the oldest cultural institution in Alberta and the only museum in the province solely dedicated to the exhibition and preservation of art and visual culture. Art lovers of all styles or those just dipping their toes into the art world will satisfy their creative curiosity at the AGA. Interested in gaining an insider’s perspective on the exhibitions? Treat your group to an enjoyable tour, led by a knowledgeable Interpretive Staff member. The list of exhibitions on any given day can be found by visiting http://www.youraga.ca/current/ Public Tours
