Principal’s Update Letter 3 1 School Lunches I am pleased to announce that our school lunch service will be available for students to use from Monday 2nd October. I would be grateful if you could complete the reply slip below to indicate whether you would like your son/daughter to buy a hot meal from Monday or whether you would prefer for them to continue to bring a packed lunch. The cost of the meal will be £2.50 and will include one of three main meal options, three side dishes to accompany them as well as dessert and a drink. It is a weekly menu and we will review it after a month. If your child is entitled to a Free School Meal, this will be provided each day. If you are interested in your son/daughter buying a hot meal you can pay either via Parentmail or by cash. Our preferred method of payment is via Parentmail. This week you will have received registration details for your Parentmail account and how to make payments online. Should there be any difficulties please follow www.parentmail.com . If however you are unable to use Parentmail, students wishing to buy school lunches can pay by cash. If you wish to pay by cash money would need to be brought weekly (not daily) and given to your son/daughter’s form tutor commencing on Monday morning 2nd October for the full week (total £12.50). At present I can only offer two options at lunch times (hot meal or a packed lunch) but will review the Options to see if from November students can have either a hot meal or a packed lunch during the week. B Year 7 Welcome Evening We would like to invite parents and carers of Year 7 to a Welcome Evening on Thursday 5th October from 4.305.30pm. It will begin with a 15 minute presentation by SLT followed by the opportunity to meet with your son/daughter’s form tutor. C Lockers and the top floor We have now been handed over the entire top floor so all subjects will be teaching in their dedicated rooms by Friday. We can now plan to see where we will be installing the lockers so I will be informing you of that very shortly. D Parent contact Can I thank all of you who continue to contact the school when you have any worries or concerns? It is only by having this communication together that we can ensure your son/daughter is happy in school.
