Bird Feeders As part of their science project, Mrs McVay’s Year 5 class have been making bird feeders. They went out to hang them around the pagoda in the outdoor classroom in an attempt to encourage a variety of birds to visit the garden area. The children also left a trail of seed to entice the birds. They will be watching the area closely, over the next few

Next School Nurse Drop In Session Tuesday 31st March from 8.30am The nurse will be available to discuss any health or behaviour issues you may have, regarding your child. No appointment is necessary, just hand your name in at the main office on that morning.

Football Award Finlay Conlin, in Mrs Hagan’s Year 2 class, has been awarded a medal for working really hard to improve his football skills. Finlay plays for Whitburn & Cleadon and clearly enjoys football. We are sure that he will be a candidate for our school team in years to come.

League Winners Oliver Walker, in Mr Bell’s Year 4 class, has won the Russell Foster League for the third season running, with his South Shields Under 9’s team. They played ten matches, drew two and won eight. They scored 33 goals and If you have a photo and some news about your child’s only conceded five. Solar Eclipse All of the children have been learning about the Solar Eclipse this week. We were lucky to see the amazing pictures of the sun on the BBC this morning. The diagram below shows exactly how the Eclipse happened.

Scholastic Book Fair Thank you to everyone who attended our Scholastic Book Fair last week. Between the Book Fair and the sale of We are Writers, we raised £1225. From this, the school gets a fantastic £735 in commission to spend on books for the classrooms.

COMIC RELIEF A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to our COMIC RELIEF event. The final total raised was

£450 This is brilliant.
