“SHOW CROSS” RIBBON DAY Sunday 24th April 2016 To be held at Massey University Dry Stock Farm, Old West Rd, PN With the kind permission of Massey Farms Test your and your horses/ponies ability to negotiate a show jumping course together with a cross –country course. Riders will ride show jumping first and then go straight out and ride the cross country course. You have to opportunity to ride 2 rounds 1st round – your competition round of which you are competing against others in your class for ribbons. 2nd round – either ride again at the same level or a level higher. Each class will consist of a shortened course of Show Jumping and Cross Country. Riders may ride a second round of cross country only at the same level or at one level higher (not allowed if they were eliminated in the first round). The second round does not count towards any placings and riders will ride at the end of the class. If you are riding a level higher you will go at the end of the class once the competition rounds are completed.

Rules:
Placings will be based on penalties and ties will be decided on riders closest to the cross country optimum time. Elimination means; a fall or 3 stops at one jump (riders can ride on after 2 stops at one fence, but they will be eliminated for missed jump), riders must retire after 6 stops. Penalties are same for Show Jumping and Cross Country except no time penalties for Show Jumping Any rider eliminated for a fall or if they have 6 stops must walk home. Riders who are eliminated are allowed to ride the same level again, but they are not allowed to ride up a level for their practice round. Riders are only allowed to ride at one level above their first round. Dress: Casual, back protectors compulsory Absolutely NO lead rein riders or on course coaching (you may not follow a rider giving any help) Absolutely NO DOGS Classes may be altered depending on entries
Cross Country Fence Judges: We expect all competitors to nominate one fence judge and to be available to judge at least one class, the name of your fence judge must be supplied when you pick up your back number.
