Dear Parent / Carer, This is a very busy time for Year 11 as they prepare for mocks and make final preparations for their exams that are fast approaching. To support your son/daughter in preparing for their Component 1 Devising Drama Practical Exam on Tuesday 18th October, which is worth 40%, I have arranged extra rehearsals to ensure that students are fully ready for the exam. Students will be expected to attend compulsory after school rehearsals this week and next; failure to attend these rehearsals will have a significant impact on both your child’s grade and those of the other students in their group. These rehearsals will be invaluable for students and will ensure the best possible outcomes. Rehearsal Schedule: Thursday 12th October: 3.15pm-5.30pm Friday 13th October: 3.15pm-5.30pm Monday 16th October: Breaktime-5.00/5.30pm The exam comprises of a group performance and supporting written portfolio. Students are expected to add to their notes, research and portfolio weekly and bring this to lessons. If a student fails to complete this work it will affect the grade they are able to achieve in this unit. In addition to this we have also arranged a weekend rehearsal on Saturday 14th October to allow the GCSE Drama students an extra run through before their exam on the Tuesday. The rehearsal will run from 9am until 3pm at Ealing Road Main Hall. Students should enter the school through the student’s entrance and be mindful that visitors will also be using the school at this time. Students will be required to bring all costume, props and a packed lunch with them. Please ensure your child arrives on time, is fully equipped and signs in and out of school at the front office.
