Race Description, Saturday, November 3, Jackson Hill
This is a self supported race
All parking will be in the Rome Civic Center Parking Lot (402 Civic Center Drive, Rome, GA 30161)
First race begins at noon
Rider’s meeting 15 minutes prior to race start
Mostly single track trail that loops back to start
Course marshals will be posted along the route
Race Description Sunday, November 4, Berry College
There is a time limit on the 25mile route. If riders are not at a checkpoint at the top of the reservoir by 11:30 they will be asked to turn around and proceed back to the start. The course will need to be clear by 2pm.
All parking and the start will be at the Cage Center
At 10:00AM, the race will start with a police escort from the start at the Cage Center along the paved portion of the route up to the Ford Buildings
The riders will then proceed down Rollins Road and past the Rollins Research Center
Just past the Rollins Center, the dirt section of the race begins with approximately 2.5 miles of gently rolling double track
At just over the 2.5 mark of Rollins Road, the BRUTAL climb of Hurtin’ Gator begins
Hurtin’ Gator is approximately 1 mile of loose rocks and extremely steep grades with two wicked switchbacks near the top
After topping out on the Ridge Road, the riders will then take a left and up a gradual climb to an open area near the House o’ Dreams gate
Riders doing the 11 Mile option will turn around at this point and back-track to the finish at the Ford Buildings
Riders doing the 25 Mile option will veer left and down the House o’ Dreams road to the intersection of Mountain Goat
Riders will then take a right onto Mountain Goat for approximately 2.5 miles of fast rolling double track to the intersection of Reservoir Road
The riders will then turn left onto Reservoir Road for approximately 1.5 miles of mostly downhill along the banks of the Berry Reservoir to the intersection of Snow Loop
The riders will then take a right onto Snow Loop for approximately 4 miles of a long gradual climb back to the intersection of Reservoir Road at the top of the ridge
From this point, riders will then back-track the course to the finish at the Ford Buildings
Note: A Course Marshall or sign will be posted at all turns.
