Assignments Assignments for Istation Home allow teachers to assign practice activities to small groups of students or individuals. Teachers can select practice lessons for students to complete at home or at school. Teachers can also track progression and completion on assigned lessons. (Teachers can preview the activities themselves in Teacher Station.) Istation Home’s Assignments include various activities: Advanced Reading Skills – reading comprehension, word skills, comprehension practice, and sentence building Science: Adventures of Dr. Amelia Chameleon – life sciences Justin Time – physical science Timeless Tales with Paige Turner – reading comprehension, word analysis, fluency, and vocabulary
Creating Assignments It is necessary to be to be logged into www.istation.com to make changes.
1. After logging in, select the Classroom tab at the top of the page. The screen will open to the most recently viewed classroom if multiple classrooms can be seen. A different classroom may be selected at the top of the screen by using the dropdown menu where the class title is listed.
4. Select a student’s name or click and drag each student’s name to add them to the Assigned Students area. Add All can also be used to select all students for an assignment. To remove a student from the list, select the name in the Assigned Student area or drag the name out of the box.
5. Select Proceed to Select Activities.
6. Select a category from the sections on the left side of the screen (A) and then select an Available Activity or Activities from the middle column (B). Select Proceed to Name Assignment (C). NOTE: Hovering over an activity gives a brief description of the activity.
7. The default name for the assignment will appear but can be edited. Select Create Assignment to accept the name and make the assignment available to the selected students.
Monitoring Student Completion of Assignments It is necessary to be to be logged into www.istation.com to monitor student completion.

2. In the left menu, select Assignments.
3. All assignments are listed in the left column on the screen. The student completion status is listed in the right column. Assignments can be sorted by All, Active, or Closed using the options above the table.
4. To see individual completion, select an activity from the list. Use the arrow to toggle the view of the list of activities included in an assignment.
Student Access to Assignments For students to access the Assignments feature of Istation Home, they must log into the Istation application either on a computer or an iPad. On the Products Menu, students will select the Assignments option. NOTE: The number at the front indicates the number of assignments that they have been given.
