Steps to be approved as a Coach/Assistant Coach for GEYA Soccer or Adult Buddy for HIGH 5 soccer 1. Register as a Coach at www.geyasoccer.org The following background check documents, the oldest of which is dated within the last 60 months, must be provided prior to performing any coaching related duties:
Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance; Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check; and Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Check (if not a resident of PA for the last 10 years)
Note: If you have obtained these clearances for other volunteer purposes and the oldest is dated within the last 60 months, you can use those same clearances for GEYA. The steps to obtain the required clearance documents are below. Steps 2-4 can be done in parallel – there is no need to wait for one of the clearances before requesting another.
2. Obtain PA Child Abuse clearance Go to https://www.compass.state.pa.us/cwis/public/home If needed, create a New Account Log in using your new account Submit information (there is no charge for volunteers) It can take up to 14 days for this clearance to be processed
3. Obtain PA Criminal History clearance Go to https://epatch.state.pa.us/Home.jsp Submit information (there is no charge for volunteers) It can take up to 3 weeks for this clearance to be processed
4. If the coach has not been a resident of PA for 10 years, obtain the FBI Clearance Go to www.pa.cogentid.com and register. There is a fee for fingerprinting ($25.75). Use the DHS (Department of Human Services) option. Choose the fingerprinting site Go to the fingerprinting site, be sure you take the required identification with you to the site It can take 4-6 weeks to receive this clearance
5. Scan/copy and submit the 2 or 3 clearances above to GEYA Email to

6. After clearance have been received and submitted to GEYA, register at EPYSA Go to https://www.youthleaguesusa.com/epys/15-16/RiskManagement.html Complete registration information – be sure to choose Glenmoore Eagle Youth Association under the recreation leagues There is no charge for this registration 7. Concussion Education – Annual requirement Complete the required training provided online and at no cost by the CDC here: http://www.cdc.gov/concussion/HeadsUp/Training/index.html Scan/copy the completion certificate and submit to GEYA Email to
