Attachment No. 1 Statement of Work Installing Standing Seam Metal Roof Feb 15, 2012 Morgan Brake National Wildlife Refuge 1562 Providence Road Cruger, MS 38924 Roof Replacement at Morgan Brake NWR Office Facility 1. Contractor shall supply all material, labor, supplies, supervision, and equipment to accomplish the following Statement of Work. 2. Provide construction services and materials for the repair and/or preparation of the existing shingled roof for the installation of a new, standing-seam metal roof. 3. Roof decking shall be inspected and any damaged or loose decking shall be replaced prior to the installation of the new roof. 4. Dormers shall be inspected and any damaged or loose hardiplank shall be replaced prior to the installation of the new roof. 5. Metal roof panels shall be factory formed, equal to the following: TCS II type 304 (non-magnetic) dead soft stainless steel covered both sides with ZT alloy (50% tin, 50% zinc) to a thickness of 20 microns. Roof panel type shall be standing-seam. Metallic-coated panels shall be 26-gauge with the manufacturer’s standard finish. Sheet thickness specified is minimum thickness of base metal without metallic coatings. Anchor panels securely in place, with provisions for thermal and structural movement. Field cutting exterior panels by torch is not permitted. Install panels with concealed fasteners unless otherwise indicated. Use stainless steel fasteners as recommended by the manufacturer. 6. Provide factory formed components required for a complete roof panel assembly including trim, fasciae, clips, seam covers, flashings, sealants, gaskets, fillers, closure strips, and similar items. Provide flashing and trim as required to seal against weather and to provide finished appearance. Finish flashing and trim with same finish as adjacent metal roof. Install gaskets, joint fillers and sealants where required for weatherproof performance of metal roof panels assemblies. Provide types of gaskets, fillers, and sealants recommended by metal roof panel manufacturer. 7. Coordinate installation of sheet metal flashing and trim with interfacing and adjoining construction to provide a leakproof, secure and noncorrosive installation. Comply with SMACNA’s “Architectural Sheet Metal Manual” for sheet metal flashing and trim. Conform to dimensions and profiles shown unless more stringent requirements are indicated.

8. Underlayment shall be self-adhering, polyethylene-faced, polymer-modified, bituminous sheet ASTM-D1970; 40 mils (1mm) thick. Install underlayment on roof sheathing under metal roof panels unless otherwise recommended by metal roof panel manufacturer. 9. All boots around vent pipes shall be replaced according to the manufacturer’s instructions and industry standards. 10. Roof assemblies should comply with requirements in UL 580 for Class 90 wind-uplift resistance. 11. Install Roof Gutters/Downspouts – Must be Follansbee TCS II or approved equal, 6” diameter, half-round profile with matching end caps. Downspouts shall be 4” diameter. Coordinate with FWS Project Manager for locations of gutters and downspouts. 12. Provide standard manufacturer’s written warranty, without monetary limitation, signed by manufacturer agreeing to promptly repair or replace metal roof panels that fail to remain free from penetration resulting from corrosion for a period of 25 years from date of sale. 13. Directions: From Tchula, MS take Hwy 49E north towards Greenwood. Turn east at the Scott Petroleum Service Station just north of Tchula onto Providence Road. Refuge office will be located on the Right a few miles down Providence Road. 14. Metal roof specifications based on recently constructed offices at Panther Swamp NWR (12595 MS Hwy 149, Yazoo City, MS 39194) and Yazoo NWR (595 Yazoo Refuge Road, Hollandale, MS 38748). Interested vendors may visit either location for reference if needed.
