After our Mexican expedition, consisting of Ubaldo Martinez, Agustím Tagle, Santos Castro, Jorge Rivera, Guillermo Carrasco, Felipe García and me, failed to reach our objective of Huascarán because of bad weather, I returned alone and was again driven back on July 9 in bad weather after reaching the Garganta.
