Pharisees & Teachers of the Law (Scribes) PRESENT – Lk 5:17 From every town in Galilee, Judea, & Jerusalem (Spiritual leadership of Israel fully represented Jesus was “TEACHING” The “power of the Lord was present to heal them”

Persistent Faith of 4 men & the Paralytic – Lk. 5:18-20 The Paralyzed man carried by four friends on a pallet/bed (see Mark 2:3) The faith of them all is demonstrated in their taking apart the roof & letting him down in front of Jesus

Profound Grace: Two Questions – Two Quandaries – Lk. 5:20-26 Quandary #1 – “Man, your sins are forgiven” (V. 20) Question #1 – “Who can forgive sin but God ALONE!?!?” (V. 21) Question #2 – “Which is easier to say, ‘your sins are forgiven’ or ‘rise up and walk’?” Quandary #2 – “So that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sin”
