If the 122892-06K apply is uncomfortably short or firm, the procedure can be reversed and a 122892-01K installed instead. The TCC control valve bore must not be worn, and the OEM valve reused.
TCC Plunger Valve & Sleeve Assembly
Inspection: Place a small amount of ATF into the apply orifice at the plunger valve assembly. Follow with low air pressure. Excess leakage out the orificed release port or the exhaust port on the opposite side indicates wear at the plunger valve assembly (see Figure 1). Disassembly: 1. Remove all components from the bore. 2. Discard all components EXCEPT the retainer pin. Installation: 1. Place the spring over the control valve spring stem and insert into the valve body bore with the spring end outboard. 2. Push the plunger valve assembly into the bore, open end first, ensuring the spring slips into the sleeve bore. 3. Push the plunger valve assembly in far enough to reinstall the OEM retaining pin.

4. Critical! Peen the enclosed .062" orifice plug into the indicated controlled exhaust release oil orifice in the separator plate. Ensure that the plug is secure (see Figure 2).
