The Rose Press ALPHA DELTA CHAPTER OF AOΠ | THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA
AUGUST 2016 Letter from the President As summer and recruitment come to a close, the sentimental feelings are setting in now that I'm starting my senior year. I'm reminded of the memories I've made over the past three years with my AOII sisters and excited to see what year four has in store. If the past few months are any indication of how this year will go, I know it'll be a great one! This summer at Leadership Institute we took home the McCausland Cup for Academic Excellence and awards in Excellence in Campus Involvement, Fraternity and Sorority Relations, Sisterhood, New Member Education and Membership Retention! On Saturday, we extended bids to 155 new members who now make up the 2016 pledge class. We couldn't be happier to welcome these women in with open arms! A special thanks goes out to all of our recruitment volunteers, we truly couldn't do recruitment without your help. I hope to see more visitors at the house for football games! As always, feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. ALAM, Ainsley LeBlanc

Spotlight Our Sister Spotlight this month is our fabulous 2016 recruitment team! Our VP of Membership Recruitment, Katie Roberts(middle), and her assistants Heather Jones (left) and Savannah Eubanks (right) worked all last year planning our recruitment. We want to thank these women for dedicating themselves to making AOII the best chapter it can be!
Spirit Week This year’s spirit week leading up to recruitment was a filled with themed costume days, a sisterhood carnival, and lots of door song practices! Our Sisterhood Chair, Katelyn Bailey, worked with our recruitment team to make this week one to remember.
Recruitment Week This year’s recruitment included the usual rounds of Ice Water Tea’s, followed by Philanthropy, and concluded with Preference. Our philanthropy round was dedicated to showing off our support for the Arthritis Foundation through our baseball themed parties. After the first two rounds of recruitment however, a new round was introduced, Sisterhood round. Our sisterhood day consisted of “Friends” themed parties. Here are a few photo highlights from the week!
Bid Day!
A record number of women came through recruitment this year and after a long week of recruitment our chapter welcomed 155 girls into the AOII family! Following our Bid Day festivities our new members drove to Huntsville, AL for our new member retreat. There our girls began to meet each other and learn about there new member period.
