AYLL – Antioch Baseball and Softball Mustang Baseball Rules 2015 The Mustang Baseball division aims to enhance player’s baseball skills and knowledge of the game with emphasis on providing a positive experience while displaying good sportsmanship throughout the season. Managers and coaches build on the fundamentals to further develop players preparing them for a higher level of pitching, catching, hitting and base running. AGE REQUIREMENTS 

The Mustang division is mainly for boys (girls are welcome) that will be Nine (9) or Ten (10) years old as of April 30th, 2015. There may be instances where Eight (8) or Eleven (11) year old players are placed in the Mustang division due to a potential safety risk if they were to remain in their applicable division.

DRAFT REQUIREMENTS 

All registered players will have their baseball skills evaluated by independent members of the General Board. All registered players will be stack ranked based on the average results from the evaluation and put into tiers based on the number of teams. The children of the manager and a maximum of one (1) coach will be removed from the pool of registered players and placed on their respective teams. Managers/coaches will not be able to draft additional players from the same tier that their children were in until other players from that same tier are drafted by other managers/coaches. The remaining registered players will be drafted by tier ensuring that each team has approximately the same overall skill level.

PLAYOFF REQUIREMENTS  

Playoffs will be single elimination and seeded based on regular season standings. A best-of-three (3) games series will be played for each round of the playoffs. The higher seeded team will be the Home team for Game 1 and Game 3 (if needed); the lower seeded team will be the home team for Game 2.
