AYSO Region 58 Blue Sombrero Team Pages How to Guide How to Register as a Volunteer for a Team In order for a parent or other adult to be assigned to a Team (either as a Coach, Asst coach or Team Parent), that person MUST be registered as a volunteer within the AYSO system. The steps for the person to register as a volunteer are as follows: 1.
log into their AYSO account at www.ayso58.org

At the top of their Account screen, there will be a box with Volunteer Opportunities. Click on that box.

On the next screen, click on the button on the top right “Find Volunteer Roles”

The next screen will present the positions available for the player(s) who are registered under that account. If more than one player is registered, then scroll down to the position list that relates to the correct player.
5.
Click on the Sign Up button next to the Volunteer role that you want to sign up for. The Sign Up button will change to “Selected”.
6.
Scroll to the bottom of the form and click “Continue”

The person associated with the Account should be shown as Selected – Click Continue button at bottom right of screen.
8.
The Volunteer application form will appear – ALL of the fields denoted with an asterisk (*) are REQUIRED to be filled in. Also the last field “Accept Waiver?*” will be set to “No”. Click on the “No” button to change it to “Yes”.
9.
Click Continue to proceed to the eSign process – MAKE SURE THAT POPUP BLOCKERS ARE TURNED OFF BEFORE PROCEEDING TO THIS STEP.
10. The filled in Volunteer form will appear a. scroll down to the Emergency Authorization section - Click the option saying "I agree to use an electronic signature" b. Then check the next option saying that you are an adult of the age of majority.... c. Then type your name in the Yellow highlighted area to the right of "Volunteer Signature"
11. Scroll to the bottom of the form and click the "Continue to Review" button
12. The form should refresh with your information (including your electronic signature) included. Scroll to the bottom and click the Submit signed volunteer application button.
The screen should refresh and your volunteer application should be completed and submitted to AYSO National for the background check process to start. The background checks typically take between 2 to 3 days – sometimes quicker, sometimes longer.
