az OPENING DAY 2017! Westside Baseball of Oak Lawn Opening Day Parade will start at 93rd Place & Natchez Ave. Meet up with your team at the Park area by 9:30! Lineup will begin at 9:40a.m. and the march will start at 10:00a.m. proceeding down 93rd street to the WBOL fields at 93rd St. & Oak Park Ave. The Oak Lawn Police and/or Fire Departments will block off 93rd Street for the parade. Teams will be announced as they march into Pancetti field. The Ceremony will commence at 11:00a.m. with the Star Spangled Banner. Immediately following special guests will raffle prizes, make announcements, and dignitaries will throw out ceremonial first pitches. Hot dogs, chips and a drink will be provided for each player immediately after the announcements in the Johnson Center. DUE TO INCIDENTS THAT OCCURRED OVER THE PREVIOUS YEARS, TOSSING CANDY ALONG THE PARADE ROUTE HAS BECOME AN ISSUE! THE MANAGERS/PARENTS/TEAM MOM MUST ENFORCE THAT CANDY SHOULD BE “TOSSED” NOT THROWN! Any player caught being disrespectful to patrons or players on the route will be subject to disciplinary actions via their team manager (In case of rain, the parade will be held on Sunday, April 23rd at the same time)
