Instructions: 1. First, iron fusible interfacing to the wrong side of the fabric following the manufacturer’s instructions interfacing. 2. For a decorative koozie, take one of the interfaced fabric pieces. Embellish the piece using a serged coverstitch or chain stitch pattern, sashiko stitching, sashiko flip or double flip stitching or bobbin work stitching. If desired, baste around the fabric to tack decorative stitching in place. Trim excess threads. 3. Hoop embellished fabric. Embroider with single initial, monogram, motif or other embroidery design. 4. Cut two pieces from the interfaced fabric using the pattern template. Make sure to rotate the pattern when cutting out the koozie inside and outside pieces. You can also place fabric right sides together and cut at some time. If embroidery was included, make sure to center your pattern with the design.

5. Cut the Insulbrite batting using same pattern template. 6. Take hairband and pinch together to form a loop. Stitch end of the hairband to secure loop in place. 7. Layer the two fabrics pieces right sides together with hairband loop at one end. Make sure to place the hairband loop towards the center of the fabric sandwich. Top with the Insulbrite batting piece. Pin together. Stitch or serge ¼” around the fabric, leaving a 3-4 inch section unsewn.

9. Mark button placement by folding the koozie and aligning the loop with the button location.

10. Attach button using sewing machine. If you want the koozie to be reversible, sew two buttons (back to back) on by hand.
