Around 1950, F. A. Heckendorf was given a thoroughbred race horse by his neighbor, Denver entrepreneur “Wolhurst Country Club” owner George Stevens and the rest is history. Young Heckendorf started his race horse career at Centennial Race Track. The Middlefield Farms runs up to 45 thoroughbreds year round, foaling, breeding in Kentucky, training and racing throughout the United States from Churchill Downs to Santa Anita. © Eddie Bohn Real Estate LLC.
