Background and corner blocks: 1/3 yard Inner border and Ants: 1/8 yard Outer Border: 3/8 yard Patched Watermelon: 5 different 1/8 yard red prints Watermelon Slices: 2 different 6x6 squares Watermelon Rind: 1/8 yard Dimensional Flower: 1/8 yard Backing: ½ yard ¾ yard mini green rick rack for vine 3/8 yard medium green rick rack for small rinds 2”x10” black wool or felt for seeds 2 beads for flower centers     

Pattern: Slice of Summer Bench Pillow by Kimberbell Sewing Machine with a ¼” presser foot, open toe decorative stitching foot, walking foot is helpful when sewing on the rick rack and sewing the cover together. Basic Sewing Supplies: to include a marking tool, pins, tape measure, rotary cutting supplies and seam ripper 50wt. thread for construction and thread in colors for the appliques Black Embroidery floss for the ants (If your machine has a triple stitch you can skip the hand embroidery floss. I prefer to use a 60 weight thread, Bottom Line, when using this stitch.)

Refer to the page 1 of the instructions and sew the background block together using the cut background, inner border, corner blocks, and outer border If you are comfortable working with the fusible web, trace and cut all of your appliqué pieces. Remember to leave a ¼ inch margin beyond your tracing line when cutting out your shapes. You will need to reverse one of your boots prior to tracing it onto fusible.
