UNIQUE EXPERIENCES Meeting the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon While engaging with the Secretary-General during an intern photograph, I graciously thanked him for his career advice. He seemed very appreciative of my thanks as English is not his first language and he was not sure if his message was clearly understood. Chinese Homestay My first two months in China were spent living with a homestay family. I had a mother, a grandmother and two little brothers. They introduced me to the beauty and warmth in their culture. Living with them, I was truly able to begin integrating and adapting to the Chinese way of life. Growing Up with a Farm Family I was raised on a farm in Ohio, surrounded by family where I grew up valuing love, loyalty and hard work. I learned to enjoy and respect nature in all of its forms. I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty, I know my way around a kitchen and my house is always clean.
