AARON AANONSEN - CAMP DIRECTOR
Men’s basketball has a long history of success at Lakeland University and head coach Aaron Aanonsen looks to continue this run. Coach Aanonsen is entering his eleventh season at Lakeland and ninth as head coach. During the 2015-2016 season, Aanonsen led the Muskies to their 6th consecutive winning season, placing his overall record to 129-83. In 2012-2013, coach Aanonsen led the Muskies to a 22-6 overall record, including a 13-3 record in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference. Aanonsen lead his team to its first ever NACC North Division title, the #1 overall seed in the NACC tournament, and its 15-2 start was the best start in Lakeland’s 80 year history. The team’s 22-win season broke the school record since becoming an NCAA institution. Aanonsen’s electric uptempo style proved to be player and fan friendly and has not only prevailed in the NACC, but at the national level as well. Lakeland ranked among the top 15 in scoring concluding the past three of five seasons. Under Aanonsen’s tutelage, 18 players received All-Conference recognition, including two All-Americans, two d3hoops.com All Region Team Selections, Lakeland’s all-time leading scorer at 2,199 points, and four 1,000 point scorers.
