Dear ParentCarer We are pleased to be offering the opportunity for your child to attend the BBC News Day trip at BBC Studios in Salford on the 15th March 2018. Selected Key Stage 3 students identified as being More Able are invited to attend the event based on their commitment to the BBC School Report project which has been running since the Christmas break. The News Day will give attending students the opportunity to shadow BBC staff and programmes. Students will also make the news by taking part in a series of workshops and tours to enhance their digital and journalistic skills. This is an exclusive trip, limited to only 10 students across years 7 and 8 therefore places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Please return the consent form as soon as possible to reception. If your child is successful in being allocated a place a confirmation letter will be given to them. The day will begin at 9.00am and end at approximately 3.00pm in Salford. Students should therefore arrive at school, to leave by school minibus, by 6.00am. Students will return to school at approximately 6.00pm. Lunch is not provided by the BBC and so students must come prepared with their own lunch. Students must also attend in their full school uniform. Please sign and return the attached BBC consent form and also complete School’s permission slip below and return them both to reception by Thursday 22 nd February and if you have any queries about the trip, please do not hesitate to contact me at the school.
