Covenant Discipleship: Making Disciples Who Make Disciples

Wesley UMC 209 South State Street, Dover, Delaware Covenant Discipleship Groups Covenant Discipleship groups make disciples who make disciples through mutual accountability and support for discipleship. They are small groups of 5-7 people who agree to meet one hour a week. The agenda for the weekly meeting is a covenant the group writes shaped by the General Rule of Discipleship:
Wesley United Methodist Church will host a one-day workshop on Saturday, September 28, 2013, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. lunch included. Rev. Dr. Steve Manskar is the workshop leader. He is the Director of Wesleyan Leadership at the General Board of Discipleship and author of Accountable Discipleship: Living in God’s Household, A Perfect Love: Understanding John Wesley’s ‘A Plain Account of Christian Perfection’, and A Disciple’s Journal 2013. A Healthy Church Initiative Workshop. Sponsored by: The Spiritual Formation Team, The Dover District, and Wesley UMC
To witness to Jesus Christ in the world and to follow his teachings through acts of compassion, justice, worship, and devotion under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. In the workshop you will learn the basics of Covenant Discipleship, group dynamics, the content and purpose of the group covenant and covenant writing, and how to introduce covenant discipleship to your congregation.
