entering the property... The first thing you notice when entering the property is the caretaker’s house located just inside the entrance of the grounds. It has 1600 square feet, including three bedrooms, two baths and was built at the same time as the main home. It is equipped with a security system that is monitored here and at the main home. There is also a large old barn as you enter the property. It has been completely restored. The property includes ninety-five total acres. Fifty of the acres are wooded with a lane going through the woods to the main home. Fortyfive acres are either lawn or crops, and approximately twelve acres are bottom

land which could be used for crops, an orchard or even a vineyard. The lane leads from the entrance, past the caretaker’s home and carries on through the rolling fields past a new barn. On the other side of the lane from the barn is a historical cemetery, that is under a grouping of trees.

continuing up the lane... Just past the barn and the cemetery as you enter through the security gate you will drive past a beautiful carriage house. The driveway starting at this point is made of paver brick with reinforced concrete curbs. The driveway continues on around the back of the house to the four car garage. The garage is heated and has heating and cooling piped into the attic for future occupancy. The drive goes between the house and the garage and back around the front of the home. The front of the home overlooks a pond, with a 60 foot spun aluminum flag pole that is lighted. Surrounding this majestic house is a custom made powder coated wrought iron security fencing with 2 gates. The front gate is remote powered. It is also controlled by the telephone system. There are five frost proof water hydrants located in the yard along the driveway and at the pond.

The Majestic Home This majestic home is a near replica of a 300 year old mansion in Charles City County, Virginia. This mansion is known as Westover. The owner paid close attention to make sure the home looks just like Westover. Some of the things that make this house look historical are: all of the walls are double to give it the two foot thick appearance, and all of the electrical and other mechanical devices are hidden within utility chaises throughout the double walls. The appearance of the house took precedence over the mechanical. The mechanical was done creatively by the owner. There are eighty-three windows in the structure. Electric candles in the main block are centrally controlled with no exposed wires. The house has five fireplaces. The ceilings are twelve feet tall in the first and second floors. The third floor has ten foot ceilings. All exterior and interior doors are two inches thick and were custom built. The first and second floor doors are eight feet tall and the third floor has seven feet tall doors. On the outside of the house there is a genuine Vermont slate roof, copper flashings and twenty-five foot tall chimneys to add to the colonial feel.

stepping inside the home... When you enter the front door of this magnificent home, the first thing you will notice is the beautiful walnut paneling in the front hall and the staircase leading up to the next two floors. The formal dining room is off to the left of the grand entrance. The flooring through the house is pine wood floor.

To the right of the main entrance there is a beautiful sitting room, with a fireplace and baby grand piano. In this room there is also a door that leads you out to the four-car garage. The room also continues on around to a hall that leads to the kitchen. In this hallway there is an elevator that leads you to all four floors in the house. In this hallway leading back to the front entrance is a quaint little bathroom that is actually located under the stairway.

The Kitchen When you enter the kitchen you will be mesmerized by the beautiful cherry woodwork throughout, including the cabinets. The counter tops are made of granite. In this kitchen you will find three ovens, two Bosch dishwashers, one Kitchen Aid microwave, a six-burner commercial Viking stove and grill, one Kitchen Aid trash compactor, one Kitchen Aid icemaker and one large Viking refrigerator. There is also room enough for a large table and it has a sitting area in one end with a fireplace. Just off of the kitchen there is a butler’s pantry which is absolutely wonderful. This then connects back to the dining room.

Just off to the right of the butler’s pantry there is a door that leads to a sitting room. This room has a door leading to the back yard and it also has an entrance to the indoor pool.

The stairs in the picture lead you up to a safe room that is connected to the Master suite closet. All of the staircases in this house are winding staircases. They have been hand crafted and are very unique.

The Pool The indoor swimming pool is 36 x 18 x 4. This magnificent room has environmental controls and equipment specifically designed for indoor pool applications. This system is capable of heating the room and the pool water itself. It also provides for dehumidification as well as air-conditioning (cooling) during the summer months. This enables complete comfort control for the pool water and the room itself and protects the building from humidity damage caused by excess moisture/mildew.

This room also has a fireplace in one end of it.

The Second Floor On the second floor there are two bedrooms; each has its own bathroom. Off of one of these bedrooms there is an entrance through the closet that goes to a room above the garage that is unfinished, but has the electrical and piping run to it for further occupancy. There is also a stairway leading down to the garage. On the other end of the second floor there is a sitting room and a master suite which includes a fireplace, his/her closets, and two bathrooms, one for him and one for her. In both bathrooms there are heated floors. Off of the closet there is the entrance to the safe room (mentioned earlier). The safe room is equipped with a security monitor. There is a lock from the inside of this room, this room could also double as a dressing room or more closet space. From this room you can take the stairs down to the sitting room off of the kitchen.

The Third Floor On the third floor there are five bedrooms. There are two full baths, one at each end of the upstairs. Each of the full baths have a drain in the floor. There is also a sitting room in the middle. The third floor is accessible from a winding staircase or the elevator. The stairs continue up to the attic.

Carriage House The carriage house is next to the garage. It houses all of the piping and heating and air conditioning equipment. The owner of this home wanted to make sure that there was no mechanical equipment seen on the property, to make it look more historical. The piping and wiring runs from the carriage house through a 110 foot tunnel that goes underground to the basement. The carriage house also has a garage area that now houses lawn equipment. On the outside of the carriage house are two bathrooms; each one has two stalls. The carriage house has fourteen arches, ten custom made doors, barrel vaulted ceilings, and two custom loft doors.
