BECKLY NEWS LETTER Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th April Come to Lunch The Beckly Bistro will be open again for us all to help shopping, preparing and cooking lunch for everyone to share together. £3.00 towards food please no packed lunch needed Saturday 30th April Junk Models It’s Transat Sailing this weekend so we will be designing and making our own model sailing boats out of junk and sailing them on the stream Bring wellies, towel and change of clothes. Bring your bus pass / fare in case we go to Mount Batten to see the boats in the Sound
Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th May Spring Sports Day It’s time to get fit for summer so we will be getting out some of the different sports equipment we have at Beckly so you can choose between unihockey, golf, cricket, base ball, football or get out the air floats and parachutes for some fun games Saturday 14th May Pirates and Treasure Hunt Ahoy!! we are casting off on a pirate adventure, looking for treasure, face painting dressing up a fun day for all
Saturday 21st May **** Sailing on Cornubia********* we have an invitation to go for a day’s sailing in Plymouth Sound on board a heritage Bristol Channel Pilot boat. If you are interested or need more information in this please contact the Office by Friday 29th April to book a place Saturday 21st & Sunday 22nd May Happy 90th Birthday Your Majesty This year there are 90th Birthday celebrations for the Queen, so we will be making birthday cards, finding out all about her and the royal family, and making and sharing an extra special birthday cake Saturday 28th May is it summer yet ? have you seen any butterflies? we will be out and about in Radford Park looking for signs of summer, doing a butterfly survey and making butterfly crafts and may be butterfly buns Please turn over *****

May Half term holiday Our theme for the week will be “”looking after ourselves” we will be out and about practicing life skills, using public transport (so bring bus passes) road awareness, getting active having a go at some sports, indoors we will be making a health lunch together one day, learning how to use the washing machine and finding out all about 5 a day fruits and vegetables (even planting some vegetables in the Beckly garden) along with the usual mix of arts and crafts, Sessions will be on Tuesday, 31st May Wednesday 1st June Friday 3rd Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th June All sessions will include a mix of activities to compliment the themes using all of the resources available at Beckly including our sensory and soft play space. A packed lunch including a drink, Wellies, outdoor clothing suitable for the weather and a change of clothes / personal care supplies will be needed for each session and a rucksack or bag to carry it all in. If there are any changes that we should be aware of, particularly contact details, conditions or medication then please let us know Trips and outing We are looking at possibility of running some Beckly Away Days out and about in June / July and August so would be grateful for some feedback from you as to whether or not there is any interest in these. Days would probably be 5 to 6 hours eg 9.30 to 4 (depending on transport times) or could be half days. They would be to local venues using public transport so train to Looe, boat or bus to Cawsands bus to Paignton Zoo or possibly to attend events such as MTV so there would be admission/ transport costs to be considered in addition to a session charge. If you are likely to be interested please do get back to us by 29th April with preferences such as Weekends or weekdays ………..
