Beginner skaters at Webster Youth Hockey – meet your new leader!! We are pleased to bring you a new beginner program with a new burst of energy. Heading the program for WYHA in 2014-15 is…John Dziedzic (pronounced Dee-zic). The program begins XXX (date and times) Please see below for John’s background and his plan for the program. We look forward to the energy he brings to this important group of skaters!

My background includes… …over 35 Years of coaching experience         

5 years at the college level 2 years at RIT Hockey and Lacrosse 2 years at Geneseo College (volunteer) 1 year at Norwich University Hockey and Lacrosse 3 Years as a High School Head Ice Hockey Coach 3 Years assistant coach Webster Youth U-16 & U-18 Travel. 1 Year assistant coach Rochester Women's Over 30/ National tournament Green Bay, WI. Numerous years in the Perinton Youth Organization House/Travel Numerous Years assisting with different Edge team as interim instructor.

My GOAL for the Beginner program is to try and teach your child the basics of Ice skating/Ice hockey, which means… HOW TO SKATE:  Proper body pasture  Proper hockey stride  How to stop one foot  How to stop two feet  How to stop on their inside edges  How to stop on their outside edges  How to stop to the right and left  How to skate backward  How to stop backward  How to turn to the right and Left  How to stick handle  How to Pass and Receive a pass  How to shoot a proper wrist shot.  If there is time some positional play. If there are any Goalies, they will need to learn all the basics first, before they put on the goalie pads. Goalies will then learn stopping the puck not the shooting!!!
