BALLROOM DANCE – Beginning April 5th lessons are available for beginner and intermediate/advanced adult students. Program meets at BAES on Tuesday evenings (6:30pm class – Tango, Samba and likely a 3rd style such as Texas 2-Step; 8:00pm class – Advanced Dance styles to be decided per interest) for 8 weeks. BEL AIR COMMUNITY CHORUS –New singers welcome - ages 16 and up. All voices are needed. If you love to sing, come join us. No audition necessary. Meets Tuesdays at First Presbyterian Church at 228 N Main St., Bel Air from 7-9pm beginning Sept. 6, 2016. Registration fee: $65/adults - $45/students with Student ID. Our spring concert – I Dream a World: Anthems of Social Justice – will be held at Bel Air High on April 24 at 3pm and at the Summer Concert Series on Sunday, June 19 at 7p.m. at the William A. Humbert Amphitheater in Shamrock Park. Both are free to the public. www.belaircommunitychorus.org BEL AIR TERPS YOUTH FOOTBALL: Ages 5-14. Age determination date is August 1st. Registration is available online only at www.belairterps.com/registration. Returning player registration will take place in mid-February, and new player registration will begin in early March. BOYS AND GIRLS SOCCER - Age groups: Co-ed Clinic ages 3 through 6, U-8, U-10, U-12, U-14 and U-16-18. BAFC Travel Program U8, U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14, U15, U16. Age cut off is Jan. 1st (Example: Clinic ages 3 thru 6 must be 3 by Jan. 1, 2016). Program runs Aug. 1st thru Nov. 20th. Registration on-line takes place beginning April 1st, 2016. Cost is $90 per player. Players receive a jersey, shorts and socks. Players will be contacted in late July by their coaches and practice begins on or around August 1st. Practices are held during the week and games played on Saturdays. Players looking for a more competitive experience are encouraged to attend try-outs for one of the BAFC travel teams. Registration is required to attend tryouts; however, there is an additional fee to participate in the travel program. If you make a travel team the typical cost is approximately $225.00 plus $90.00 for uniform. Try-outs for the BAFC travel program begin around June 1st, 2016. CHEERLEADING – Online Registration will begin April 1st at www.belairterpscheerleading.com and ends July 1st. Cheerleaders will be notified by their Coach in July for which team they will cheer. Squad ages vary from 5U up thru 17U. Must be 3 (and potty-trained) by 08/01/16. Cost is $125.00/participant (Sibling discount available). Program begins Monday, Aug. 1st and runs thru mid/late November depending on football championship games. Practice can be 2-3 evenings/week in August (depending on age group) and 2 evenings/week September and October. All participants will cheer at Bel Air Terps Football games on the weekends beginning in late August. The first 25 cheerleaders on each team will compete at up to 6 competitions during the season. Local travel may be required for games and competitions. Additional expenses for uniform, white shoes, socks, spankies, bow, gym bag & personalized warm-up jacket. FIELD HOCKEY - Visit www.belairrec.org for online registration beginning 4/15/16. Girls in grades K – 8 are invited to play beginning mid-August through early November. The registration fee for Clinic (grades K – 2) is $70. Clinic is held on Saturday mornings at Kelly Field. Two “Play-days” will be scheduled on Saturday or Sunday throughout the season. The registration fee for grades 3-8 is $110.00 (additional fees if kilt is needed) Weeknight practices are held at Kelly Field. Games are played on Sundays. An opportunity for more competitive play is available with our Elite team for 7/8th graders. Tryouts for this team will be held in early June. Open registration will run from 4/15/16 through 5/15/16. There will be a $20 late fee attached to all players registering after 5/15/16. HARFORD COUNTY P & R YOUTH BASEBALL CLINIC – Ages 5-11 boys/girls starting April 2nd at Emmorton Rec & Tennis Center (indoor) from 9:00am-12:00pm. Cost $10 per registrant. The clinic consists of offensive/defensive drills to help improve players’ performance, skills, fundamentals & overall knowledge of baseball. Registrations online only at www.mensbaseball.org/registration. Fall Ball cost: $85 per player prior to August 1st. A $10 late fee added starting August 1st. Players wishing to play in the 30+ age group must turn 30 prior to the end of the calendar year. Players wishing to play in the 40+ age group must turn 40 prior to the end of the calendar year. The “gentle art” originated in Japan about 3,000 years ago. Emphasis is on practical selfdefense techniques and developing appropriate, non-violent response to volatile situations. Class meets Thursdays 6:00-8:00pm at BAES, September thru June. Cost is $50 for four months’ instruction. Register at any class. Spectators welcome. KARATE – (Chinese Kung Fu) – Ages 7 thru adult. Meets September 13, 2016 thru May 28, 2017. Tuesdays & Thursdays at WES class times are 6:00-9:00pm. Cost is $120 for a three month session, plus a onetime registration fee. Register at any class. WOMEN’S SUMMER LACROSSE - Divisions available are: Senior (post-collegiate, collegiate and high school players with JV or varsity experience) and Junior (entering 6th grade thru high school with rec. league experience). Program meets evenings May 24th thru July 7th. Seniors play Tuesdays & Thursdays-6pm and 7pm; Juniors play Tuesdays-5pm. All games played at Ewing Street Field (Rockfield Park, Bel Air). Cost: On or before May 13th (Senior) $75; (Junior) $60; After May 13th a $10 late fee will be added. Registration will take place on-line starting April 11th. YOUTH TRACK & FIELD MEETS – Two meets open to boys/girls ages 7-15 held on Bel Air HS track this Spring- The 1st on Sunday April 24 & the 2nd on Sunday May 15 both 1-5pm. First meet Events are 50 & 100 dashes, 400 & 800 runs, low hurdles, relays & long jump. The 200 & 1600 are added in 2nd meet. Age groups: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-15. No track experience or club affiliation necessary. 1 entry fee covers all events: $6 preregistration by April 18; $8 thereafter, incl. day-of-meet entries. Bel Air Skate Park The Bel Air Skate Park is open 6 days a week (weather permitting) - Closed Mondays Beginning early April until late November. The Park is located behind the McFaul Activities Center on MacPhail Road. Skateboards and roller blades are allowed. Helmets required, knee & elbow pads suggested, and are available for rent ($1.00) at the Park.
