SECOND GRADE: 1st Place “Ben and the Bully” by Alec Our Lady of the Snows School

Once upon a time there was a boy named Ben that lived in an awkward home. In his house the floor was th

ceiling and the ceiling was the floo . Since his bed was on the ceiling he always fell out of it. He did

not get hurt because he fell into a snow tunnel that took him to his dreams. Ben had amazing dreams! The snow tunnel took him to a land where everything was frozen. Every night Ben would ski and sled with his friends. One night a mean snow monster took his sled.

Ben was sad. He started to cry frozen tears. Ben had a friend that chased the snow monster and got

his sled back. Ben was grateful and the friend was glad he could help. That night they went to the

snow monsters cave and told him that they were tired of him being a bully. “What is a bully?” The monster

had never heard of that word. “A bully is someone who is not kind and tries to be mean to others,” Ben said. The snow monster

said that he was sorry and would not do it again. “Time to wake up.” called Bens mom! Once again Ben had to walk on the ceiling to get out of bed to get ready for school. He could not wait to go back to the frozen land, especially now that the snow monster was nice! The end.
