Charlie Averkamp Charlie Averkamp just completed his third season as the women’s basketball coach at Benedictine University and finished the 2017-18 season with an 18-9 overall record and a conference tournament semifinal appearance. Benedictine is the first head coaching assignment of his basketball career after previously serving as the head men’s and women’s golf coach at Concordia University Wisconsin along with assistant basketball duties. Averkamp led the Eagles to their third straight conference tournament appearance in 2017-18 under his tutelage and had two Eagles earn All-Conference honors. Benedictine produced one of the best seasons in program history in 2016-17, tallying a record of 19-7 to match the second most victories in single season program history. The team notched a 15-5 mark in conference play, tying for third. The roster featured a pair of all-conference players in Venita Parsons (First Team) and D’Asia Williams (Second Team). The Eagles posted a record of 16-11 in his first season in charge with a 12-8 mark in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference, reaching the semifinals. The team had three All-Conference selections. Averkamp arrived at Benedictine after spending four years as an assistant at Concordia University Wisconsin. Averkamp was an integral part of 98 wins during his tenure including 74 in conference play. The 2012-13 team won the North Division title. Averkamp also served as the recruiting coordinator and coached 12 all-conference players including a conference player of the year and a pair of freshmen of the year winners. Averkamp doubled as the head coach for both the men’s and women’s golf programs. Averkamp played collegiately in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference for Edgewood College. During his junior season, Averkamp notched the first triple-double in school and conference history. The New Berlin, Wis. Native was a four-time all-conference honoree. Averkamp opened his coaching career by serving as an assistant for the men’s program at Edgewood in 2008-09.

ABOUT THE CAMP The camp will provide instruction for all different levels of play. Whether a beginner learning the rules of basketball or someone who has played for years, the experienced camp staff will gear towards each players skill level. Drills, games, contests and evaluations will be done for each player.
