LAST TIME OUT Benedictine opened the season on Friday night, defeating Augustana College in straight sets. The Eagles offense was on-point, tallying 29 total kills and a .323 hitting percentage on the night. Defensively, BenU recorded 39 digs and four team blocks. ABOUT THE EAGLES Benedictine opened the season on Friday night with a 3-0 win over Augustana College in the Rice Center. The Eagles own a tough 2018 schedule, taking on five ranked opponents including today’s contest: #14 Marymount. Benedictine, who now competes in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference, was picked to finish third in the league. ABOUT MARYMOUNT The Saints enter the season ranked tied for 14th in the AVCA Preseason poll. Marymount is coming off of a 19-10 overall record in 2017 with a 13-1 record in the Continental Volleyball Conference. The Saints finished the CVC schedule as the regular season champions but fell in the semifinals. Marymount is picked to finish second. So far this year, the Saints own a 3-1 overall mark, most recently defeating Concordia University-Wisconsin but falling to #9 Carthage College on Friday night.
