FOOTBALL
February 21, 2017 Dear Blythewood High Football Supporters, As our school year winds down and the weather starts to warm up, it is time once again to be thinking of the summer. When we talk about summer here, we are talking specifically about our summer camp and summer strength and conditioning program. We view those opportunities as great chances to compete and improve ourselves every day. As we continue our work towards the 2017 season, our kids are hungry to take the next step as a football program. We know it will not be easy with hard work and determination, we will relentlessly pursue a state championship. Our mantra around our program is: “To BE and 11!” In saying that our student-athletes have made a commitment to each other to fully develop themselves in all areas, making them better students, better football players, and better young men in society. On Thursday, March 16, 2017, our football program will take part in the 1st Annual Lift-A-Thon, in the BHS Weight Room. We are striving to make sure that our program becomes a standard of excellence not only in the state of South Carolina, but one day nationwide. We are asking for your help in donating money to our football program. On March 16th, we will be maxing out in the bench press, squat, power clean, and dead lift. All money raised will directly benefit our student-athletes and the Blythewood Football Program. We are asking that you pledge a monetary amount per pound that your football player totals in four lifts. Usually people pledge such amounts as a penny, nickel, dime, quarter or dollar a pound lifted by the player. For Example if one player lifts a total: Bench Press-‐ 200 POUNDS Squat-‐ 300 POUNDS Hang Clean-‐ 200 POUNDS Dead lift-‐ 200 POUNDS Total LBS-‐ 900 POUNDS If you pledged a nickel per pound, you would give the player $45.00. If you would feel more comfortable giving a flat donation, that is perfectly acceptable as well. All parents, siblings, family members, friends, alumni, and sponsors are invited to attend the day of the event, and cheer on our program as we compete against ourselves in the weight room. Thank you for your interest and support of our football program. As coaches and players, we have dedicated our entire off-‐season to making sure the Blythewood High Football program brings home the SCHSL State Championship!
Claws UP, Head Football Coach Brian Smith If you want to help out the program but don’t have a player to sponsor, you can sponsor a player through our coaching staff.
