Celebrating John 3:16! Have you ever thought about Christmas being a celebration of the most famous verse in the bible? Think about that verse for a minute: John 3:16 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life God so loved the world, that He sent His Son! That’s what Christmas is all about… The coming of the Son of God, Jesus Christ! We celebrate that coming, His birth, each year. He is Emmanuel, God with us. The Word become flesh. The New Covenant of God manifested to the world. God sent His Son to us…to you…for you! Why? Here’s why…God SO loved you! You are so precious to God! So special that He would send His Son to earth for you, that if you would believe in His Son you will have eternal life. Isn’t that an amazing thought!? Like each snowflake that falls is different, you are one of God’s special creations. He created you and He loves you. Even while He was forming you in your mother’s womb, He knew you and loved you: Psalm 139:13 13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. The birth of the Savior is actually about you! Rather it’s about God’s love for you. He came, He was born, because God loves you! And God put you here to love Him in return! Psalm 100:3 Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves You aren’t a mistake. You aren’t an accident. Your life was given to you by God for a special purpose. That purpose is to glorify Him in all you do. Jesus was born because God loves you! He loves you! He made you! We are His creation, His children. As we celebrate this special season together, don’t let the busyness and day to day difficulties blind your eyes to this precious fact: Christ is born because God loves you! I Love you too! Week of Prayer for International Missions and Lottie Moon Christmas Offering December 3 – 10, 2017 The International Mission Board’s vision is for every language, tribe and nation to know and worship our Lord Jesus Christ. For that to happen we must pray for our Southern Baptist missionaries who share the Gospel in our dark world, and pray for the people groups they contact. 100% of the Lottie Moon Offering goes directly to support these missionaries and their families around the world. Lottie Moon Christmas Offering Sunday Morning, December 10.
