Beulah Baptist Church Celebrates Black History Month On Sunday, February 21, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. Chief Warrant Officer Four Phillip Brashear will share his late father’s triumphant story that was portrayed in the movie, “Men of Honor.” His father, Master Chief Carl Brashear was a United States Navy sailor. He was the first African–American to become a U.S. Navy Master Diver, rising to the position in 1970 despite also having an amputated left leg.
