PHOTO TAKING TIPS GAA Classic Cars, provides these guidelines/tips as a way to assist you to ensure that your vehicle is represented in the best light possible. Remember, a picture can say a thousand words. These photos will be used for both the website as well as advertising that could include the sales catalog and other advertising in flyers, magazines & emails. PHOTO REQUIREMENTS Size – to ensure quality photos, the minimum size is 1.5 MB, maximum file size is 5MB, 400 x 300. Make sure your date/time stamp is turned off on your camera. Small files will not display well on our website and will limit what we are able to do with regards to advertising. Please DO NOT crop, trim or edit your pictures before sending them to us, this could cause distortion of your photo and poor representation of your vehicle. Let us do the editing please. Polaroid’s, low res digital photos and photos printed on paper will be accepted but the quality cannot be insured when scanning and may or may not be usable for print purposes. TIPS ON HOW TO ENSURE A QUALITY PHOTO: 1. Stage your photos, make sure your vehicle is the focus of the photo. Anything taking your eye off the vehicle is a distraction and should be removed from the area around the vehicle including people, objects on, in or around the vehicle 2. Always have the hood closed, trunk closed and doors closed for the “beauty” shots 3. Keep the background clean and clutter free. 4. Try to take the photo of the vehicle on pavement/asphalt/concrete. 5. Vehicles on grass or near nice landscaping will also work well. Just make sure the vehicle is the focus of the photo. 6. We recommend taking photos outside as natural light provides the best lighting. 7. The best time of day to take photos is at dusk. 8. Take the picture with the sun at your back, this will provide proper shadowing and will better highlight the vehicle 9. Please make sure the entire vehicle fits in the photo. Step back one more step if the nose or tail of the vehicle fully in your photo 10. We suggest the following list of photos: - A good full ¾ angle shot from nose to tail down the driver’s side of the vehicle - A good full side shot from nose to tail down the passenger side of the vehicle - A nose shot - An interior shot from the front to the rear/back seat area - A rear/tail shot - Cargo area shot if applicable - Engine shot - A detail shot or anything special you want to show about the vehicle - Additional photos are welcome and will be posted to the website Example photos are included to give you a better idea, and remember these pictures speak for your vehicle. When sending the pictures to GAA Classic Cars make sure to include your vehicle run number in the subject line. If you could also please include seller name/company and yr/make/model as a part of the email as well. Send your email to
[email protected].
