Bismarck Youth Baseball 2015 Traveling Team Tryouts Letter of Intent Traveling Team Tryout Schedule/Fess Traveling Team Tryouts have been scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2015, at the Fore Seasons Golf Dome. Age determination is as of 4/30/15. The time slots for each team are as follows (players must stay for their age group’s entire 90-minute tryout session): 9’s - 8:15 - 9:45 am 10’s - 10:00 - 11:30 am 11’s - 11:45 am - 1:15 pm 12’s - 1:30 - 3:00 pm Players should arrive at the Dome about 15 minutes before scheduled start time to get checked in. Baseball attire should be worn (wear tennis shoes - no cleats), and players should bring their own gloves. PLAYERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO WEAR ANY BYB TRAVELING JERSEYS OR BASEBALL CAPS, OR ANY SHIRTS OR OTHER ATTIRE THAT DISPLAYS THEIR LAST NAME ON IT. Bats may be brought, but some will be available for use on-site, if needed. All personal equipment is the player’s responsibility – items should have their name on them. There is a $10 per player Tryout Fee that must be paid at Tryouts, to cover the facility rental. Traveling Team Attendance Requirements In attending 2015 Traveling Team Tryouts, my child and I commit to at least 3 Traveling Team tournaments, 95% of practice and at least 85% of regular season games and practices. We also commit to volunteering to assist with the state tournament (July 10-13) that will be held in Bismarck. We realize inability to do this will present a hardship to both Traveling Team and regular season teams and will result in removal from both teams. In that event, we understand there will be no Traveling Team or regular season refunds. We agree not to try out should there be any hesitation to fulfill these commitments. The Coaching staff will work together with parents to determine which tournaments will be attended. Traveling Team Tournaments Should my child be assigned to a Traveling Team, we agree to be a willing participant in additional tournaments or scrimmages should the opportunity arise, and the Coach and Team Parents agree to attend. The League has agreed to pay for $650 per team toward tournament costs - any additional tournament/traveling fees will be at the expense of the Traveling Team parents. Traveling Team Fees Should my child be assigned to a Traveling Team, we understand they will receive an additional uniform to be worn for game purposes only. I agree to pay an additional $75 if my child is placed on a Traveling Team, to offset tournament fees, uniform and equipment expenses. Traveling Team Tournament and Practice Behavior My child and I understand that any poor sportsmanship on my part or my child’s part, witnessed or documented by a Coach, Tournament Official or Bismarck Youth Baseball Director will result in 1 warning by the Bismarck Youth Baseball Board of Directors. We understand that any future poor sportsmanship behavior will result in Parent ejection from attending the tournament and possibly future tournaments or player ejection from the Traveling Team and BYB. We understand that criticism, including the use of social media, of any Coach, Umpire or Tournament Official is unproductive and a poor reflection on our teams, league and community. Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated and such behavior can result in removal from the League.

We also understand that the Regular Season league player assignments supersede the Traveling Team practice and games during the regular season and regular season tournaments. BYB will not tolerate players missing regular season games or practices because they have tournament play on the weekends. If a tournament is out of town and the players will miss a game due to the tournament, the players need to notify their regular season coaches before they leave, and then again the day they are aware they will not be home for the game the week following the tournament. Traveling Team Acknowledgement Traveling Teams are part of a competitive baseball division and will not be conducted with equal playing time or equal rotation of infield or outfield positions. I understand my child may not play the position he/she wants to play. I also understand that my child may or may not participate in the same playing time as other players. My child and I make the commitments listed in our copy of the letter of intent as indicated by our signatures, and acknowledge that we have received a copy of the letter of intent. ________________________________________ Parent Name (Printed)
