Additional information Use of Social Media Unfortunately over the past few weeks we have been getting more and more reports about children at school using social media inappropriately. We have discussed this at length with the children and many are telling us that they are using sites such as ‘Facebook’ and ‘Instagram’ with their parent’s permission. While we are very aware that this is the age we are living in, please be reminded that these kinds of sites and apps have an age limit (usually of 13) and it is illegal for children under this age to use them. While we cannot determine what children do in their own time away from school, please be aware that we do not tolerate unkindness or bullying of any kind at Bispham. We would really appreciate it if you could support us by talking to your child about internet safety and appropriate use of social media. If you are concerned about your child being on the receiving end of unkind messages or indeed would like support in how to monitor your child’s internet use, please be in touch through the usual methods.
SATs week As many of you will be aware next week (11th -14th May) is the KS2 SATs week. Year 6 will be sitting the national KS2 tests in reading, maths and spelling, punctuation and grammar. It is important that the children are fully prepared for the week and able to perform to the best of their ability. Please try to encourage them to have early nights and to remain as relaxed as possible. On these days we will be offering a breakfast club for the Year 6 children starting at 8:30 am. We are really proud of how hard they have been working and wish them lots of luck next week.
