HEAD COACH MARK NORE 15th Season at Black Hills State at Black Hills State - 253-157 Career - 253-157 Black Hills State ‘99

(NAIA), one conference tournament championship (DAC), and had four consecutive trips to the NAIA National Tournament in the final four years of NAIA eligibility. A graduate of Black Hills State University, Nore played under BHSU Hall of Famer Mike Olson from 1993 to 1997. During his playing career, Nore was part of 77 wins and two trips to the NAIA national tournament. Coach Nore’s career began as a high school coach in Belle Fourche, South Dakota. He moved into an assistant coaching role for the women’s basketball team for two years in 1998 and 1999. He then moved onto Southwest Minnesota State University where he served as a Graduate Assistant from 2000 to 2002. At SMSU, the Mustangs compiled a 49-13 record and an NSIC Conference Championship.

The all-time wins leader in Black Hills State women’s basketball history, Mark Nore is in his 15th year at the helm of the Yellow Jacket women’s basketball team. Nore took over BHSU five games into the 2002-03 season and has simply amassed 253 wins against just 157 losses including the transition from NAIA to NCAA Division II.

Nore received his bachelors degree in physical education and special education from Black Hills State in 1999 and earned his Master’s of Science with and emphasis in PE at Southwest Minnesota State in 2002. A native of Belle Fourche, South Dakota, Nore and his wife Melissa (former standout for BHSU) have two children, Lily and Berklee and a dog named Jacke.

The 2015-16 season saw Nore lead the Yellow Jackets to an at-large bid in the NCAA Division II Basketball Tournament as a No. 7 seed. The Yellow Jackets upset No. 2 CSU-Pueblo in the first round to advance to the Round of 32. The 2015-16 season also saw four All-RMAC selections including First-Team All-RMAC Taylor Trohikimoinen. In 2014-15, Nore coached three All-RMAC selections including three-time First Team All-RMAC Chelsey Biegler as she capped her career with 1,323 points including three years of NCAA action. The Yellow Jackets advanced to the finals of the 2014 RMAC Shootout, its first year of postseason eligibility within the NCAA. In all, Nore has coached 27 all-conference players, one conference MCP, three most valuable seniors, three defensive players of the year and a freshman of the year in his career. Nore has led his teams to three Dakota Athletic Conference Championships
