Potable/Drinking Water You will need 1 ½ gallons (approx. 6 liters) of water, plus what you need for cooking if you don’t want to pump from the river. The river is very clean, but stained (brackish).
$40 per Trailman (or Adult). Please write check to Briarwood Church and try to have 03/17 or 03/31. Sack Supper for Friday. Water only to drink on bus. Bring $$ to eat on the way home Sunday. No glass containers permitted on river. We will be cooking in groups of 2, 3 or 4. o You can join with trailmen from other patrols. o One trailman in each cooking group must pack a stove. o Another trailman in each cooking group must pack a water filter/purifier. o Everyone should pack plenty of snacks. Pack everything in “Dry Bags” (can be purchased at Academy), or pack in double plastic bags. Pack clothes in zip lock bags. o Take rope or bungee to tie your gear in the canoe. It could still be chilly in early April. Make sure you pack a jacket and enough clothes to be able to change into dry clothes. BE PREPARED!!!! Other items to pack: Shoes that can get wet; sun block, sun glasses, hat, TP and trowel, swim suit.
